Daniel 11 Continues - The Abomination

Perhaps the major lesson of Daniel 11 is that it is so accurate and detailed it confirms the divine nature of the information. As we have discussed, there is an accurate accounting of rulers to come and their actions. Chapter 11:31 even speaks to the first fulfillment of the "abomination of desolation." This first fulfillment refers to the Greek ruler Antiochus Epiphanes who was the "King of the North" and who, in 167B.C. set up an alter to Zeus in the Jewish Temple and sacrificed swine. The second fulfillment of the "desolation" was by the Romans in A.D. 70 when they destroyed the Temple in Jerusalem. The third and future fulfillment will be the signal that Jesus will soon come to earth a second time. Matthew 24:13-14.
