Establishing the Church in Rome

We discussed the beginnings of the church in Rome. While Peter and Paul were influential in converting many in Rome to Christianity, there is evidence to suggest that Christianity had first made its way to Rome from Jerusalem by way of converted Jews traveling to Rome. Consider, for example, that Aquila and Priscilla most likely were converted in Rome rather than in Corinth after they met Paul. See Acts 18:3 where it is demonstrated that they had some connection with Paul already and 1 Cor 1:14-16 where Paul essentially says he didn’t baptize them; so they must have become Christians while in Rome before Peter or Paul’s ministry there.

Alternate views welcome.
