The Mystery of God

Mark 4:10 begins, “The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you.” We spent considerable time on what “The Secret” or “The Mystery,” as it is ofter called, of God is. It could be said the the secret is that both Jew and Gentile will go too heaven if they believe that Jesus is the son of God and that he died for their sins. Confirming this, Paul said,

Ephesians 3:6 “This mystery is that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.” ESV

Another view is that Christ is himself the mystery of God. See Colossians 2:2-3 “that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God’s mystery, which is Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." NIV

Christ and his message of salvation, which includes Gentiles, is the mystery of God.
