We discussed the metaphor of the fruit that good trees yield. If we are indeed Christians, our actions (the fruit we yield) should show it. Just as we read in Matthew 5:16, "...let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." But we have to remember that we are also advised in Matthew 6:3, "But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing." Perhaps the message is, do good but don't do good for a reward or human recognition.
