We discussed the significant role John played for God and some of us were therefore puzzled about his violent end but Matt Sommer pointed out that it demonstrates how much John sacrificed for God compared to the little that most of us risk. John knew that attacking Herod would cost him his life but he did it anyway; what are we willing to do for God?
