In Matthew 22, Jesus asked the Priests who they thought the Messiah was and they answered, "The Son of David," to which Jesus replied, "How is it that David, speaking by the Spirit, calls him 'Lord?'"
It always confused me that Jesus challenged their answer until we looked at Psalm 110 wherein David wrote that Jesus was Lord sitting at the right hand of God. He would not have called his own son Lord. Jesus' body was of the House of David but Jesus was a Spirt from God.
