JOHN 8 Unbelieving Priests

We discussed the comparative ease with which the Gentiles accepted Christ compared to the Jews. The Jews were trained from birth for hundreds of years that the Priests were in charge of their spiritual lives (and perhaps more importantly, their place in the synagogue) and it is reinforced in John 8 that the Priests didn’t want to give up that status or, as someone once said, “Didn’t want to give up their monopoly on piety.”
