We discussed Jesus weeping when he meet with Mary and Martha. One view was that since he had deliberately delayed coming so Lazarus would die and the miracle of his being raised could be accomplished, he felt bad for the grief he had caused Mary and Martha.
We also marveled at the disbelief and evil plots of the Priests and Pharisees; even though they knew Jesus was doing miracles, they wanted him dead. As has been said, it would seem the Priests were "worried about losing their monopoly on piety."
