The Bible only speaks to the death of Judas (and that is described in two different ways ACTS 1:18 and Matthew 27:5 but they can be reconciled) and the execution of John's brother, James (ACTS 12:2). There is reference to Stephen's death (ACTS 7:6) but he was not an original Apostle. Other than that I could find only stories promulgated by religious groups and writers which essentially say:
- Three were crucified
- One were stoned
- Two stabbed (one was James)
- One tortured to death
- One speared
- One axed
- One sawed in half
- One killed himself (Judas)
- One died of old age (John)
and later Paul was said to have been beheaded in Rome, but there is no Biblical support for that, and Stephen (also not an original Apostle) was stoned to death (ACTS 7:60).
I was glad to learn that there is no biblical confirmation of the gruesome deaths of all the Apostles; I'd like to think that as Apostles they would have been afforded some protection.
