As we read John 20, there is a sense that the Crucifixion is the end of the story but Jesus stayed with the disciples for 40 days (Acts 1:3) before his ascension and during that time he told them to stay in Jerusalem until they received the gift God promised, The Holy Spirit. This event made me realize that the Holy Sprit wasn't just something abstract but was an actual third entity that can only come from God; even Jesus had to wait until God was ready to send the Holy Spirit to the Disciples.
