The Case for Pre-Tribulation - Editors Comment

I am having a hard time finding evidence in the Bible for the Pre-tribulation view; the belief that Christians are taken up to heaven before the Tribulation. It makes sense in that some will become believers during the Tribulation and will get to go to heaven; surely those of us that are already believers don't need to be tested again - but who knows what God has planned for us; not even Jesus knew when the Tribulation would begin. I have searched the Bible...

For example, in 1 Thessalonians 4:17 "After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air." WE WHO ARE LEFT sounds like we will have been through tough times.

Also, in 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 "...at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed." The LAST TRUMPET sounds like whatever happened is coming to an end and in Mathew 24:29-31 we read, "Immediately after the distress of those days...and he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds,..." AFTER THE DISTRESS OF THOSE DAYS sounds pretty much like it's over, on the other hand this could be a reference to those who come to believe during the Tribulation.

On the side of Pre-tribulation is Revelations 3:10 which describes John's letter to the Church of believers in Philadelphia wherein it says, "Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth." Unfortunately, We don't know if that applies to all Christians or just those in Philadelphia. For that matter, we don't know if the Tribulation is for everyone or just the Jews.

Side Note: In WWII the Jews were treated horrifically; just to read about it keeps you awake and in destress for days. Today many are saying the Tribulations is coming soon but considering what happened to the Jews in WWII, current events may be chaotic and world wide but nothing like the Holocaust.
