God Charges Israel

In Hosea’s day the Jews lived in Israel and Judah. Israel was the northern two thirds of the Jew’s homeland and Judah, which included Jerusalem, was the southern third. The Jews in Israel had abandoned God and he, through Hosea, literally charged them with crimes and told them what the penalty would be - “…the land will dry up and everything will die” Hosea 4:3. There was some discussion in our group about how America is similarly divided and the surprise most of us felt at the discovery of how few practicing Christians there really are in America.
