Today we studied 1 Peter 2:17-25. It is one thing to suffer for something bad that you did; it is another to suffer, as Jesus did, for something you didn’t do. These verses tell us to be patient with injustice and to obey authority. You can disagree with the policies of an appointed leader but you can’t be abusive.
1 Peter 2:20 *ASV): “For what glory is it, if, when ye sin, and are buffeted for it, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye shall take it patiently, this is acceptable with God."
Remember; however, that you should not obey any edict that causes you to break God’s law.
