This Chapter contains one of the verses that has helped me understand much of scripture; Verse 8: But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. As one of our members once said, “if you are eternal, everything is now.”
We talked about how the end would come. Many once thought it would be by a nuclear holocaust but would God want us to think we destroyed ourselves and would a nuclear holocaust destroy the heavens (Verse 12: as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat).
We finished by seeking to understand Verse 18: But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen. How do we grow in grace and knowledge? Another author suggested, dwell on the word so that “your since of sin increases.”
