The Gospel According to Mark

We reviewed the first chapter of Mark today, Mark being the oldest of the four “gospels,” and part of our discussion was an effort to define what the “gospel” is.

Mike Witzig suggested we read 1 Corinthians 15 verses 1:8 wherein Paul describes the gospel. This lead to a discussion about belief. Bartt Stevens discussed the difference between believing with your head and believing with your heart. It was felt that you believe the tangible with your head and perhaps the intangible, things you take on faith, with your heart. A test of your belief is having a fear of God. Ask yourself, do you fear God? Perhaps also ask yourself, as Mike Witzig once said, “do you recognize your sins?”
