The Little Children & Jesus - Mark 10: 13-16

There was discussion in our group on why the disciples were abrupt with the little children. The first consideration is that if they were 13 or more, having had their bar mitzvahs, they would have been considered adults, so it is clear that these are unsophisticated little children and, even today, if a person of importance was talking with you, you might very well remove them from the conversation. In any event it seemed to some of us that Jesus’ point was that a childlike faith rather than a sophisticated evaluation of events was more likely to get a person into heaven.
