JOHN 4:1-26
We discussed the Samaritans; the group of Jews that was not taken into captivity by the Babylonians. They were shunned by the other Jews as they only believed in the first five Chapters of the old testament and they had intermarried and yet they are waiting for the Messiah and consider Jacob their father. It would seem that it is the Jews that shun the Samaritans rather than the Samaritans shunning the Jews. John, author of this book, continues to point out that God is a Spirit and must be worshipped in Spirit and all the little differences that man introduces into worship, are unimportant.
