SIN

In John 5:14 Jesus sees an invalid he had healed and says, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.” This always made me wonder if sinning causes bad things to happen to you and, further, if you have accepted Christ, why do bad things still happen to you?

It was suggested by our group that a person's sinful nature is always in conflict with their spiritual nature and also, as described so well in the book of Job, sometimes Satan tests you to see if adversity will make you fall away from God.

While our problems seem large, as Christians we can not take the eternal view of thing (2 Corinthians 4:17, "For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all."

In the end we only know that (Romans 8:28) "...in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
